Kristy Boyles and Mike Desmond, longtime high school coaches and ambassadors for the sport of lacrosse in Charlotte, were recently inducted into the NC Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Boyles, who played college lacrosse at University of Richmond, became head coach of Charlotte Country Day’s girls’ team in 2012. Under her leadership, the team has won a slew of NCISAA State Titles, including an astounding streak of championships from  2013 through 2018. UNC Charlotte’s women’s program officially gets underway on February 8 when the 49ers will play their season opener against Gardner Webb University at home. The Niner’s 16-game schedule features nine home games at UNC Charlotte’s Jerry Richardson Stadium (where admission is free for all fans!)
