Fans of women’s lacrosse know that the best player in recent history is Charlotte North, a two-time Tewaaraton Award winner who led Boston College to its first national championship in 2021. Let’s level-set. We don’t have generations of lacrosse tradition engrained in our culture like they do in Maryland, Long Island, and Connecticut. And there are still plenty of people in Charlotte who have never even heard of the sport. But lacrosse is booming in Charlotte and there’s a strong case to be made that the Queen City is officially a lax town.
